Overview:
In July, Byers designed, built and installed an automated control panel in a food manufacturing plant’s bulk ingredient delivery process. In addition, we also performed a complete renovation to the electrical systems in two of the recipe batching kitchens and the packing line.
Bulk Ingredient Control Panel Installation:
In addition to the installation of the bulk ingredient control, we also provided a complete installation of all stainless conduit, raceways, feeds and control wiring associated with the 12 motors operated by this control panel. We installed a VFD control panel along with a remote HMI control screen designed and built by MG Newell. This process involved adding two motors to the bulk tomato area along with running new feeds to the other bulk ingredient motors. All necessary controls and instrumentation involved in the operation of the VFD control panel were also installed and all existing conduit and electrical raceways in the tomato area were removed and replaced with stainless steel material.
Kitchen Electrical Renovations:
This renovation involved removing all wire way, conduit and instrumentation boxes and replacing them with stainless steel material. All load cell transmitters and RTD transmitters were relocated to a more convenient location for plant maintenance and all process control wiring and motor wiring was replaced. A new mill along with all associated control wiring, safety controls and feeders were also added to the kitchens during this time.
Our mechanical division also designed and fabricated multiple stainless steel stands and brackets to provide a means of support for control panels, transmitter boxes and stainless conduit.
Packaging Line Electrical Renovation:
All electrical conduit drops, old wiring and devices for this line were removed and replaced with PVC coated rigid conduit. Byers designed and installed control stations for the operation of the machinery and conveyors and added service disconnects to 19 motors for added safety and ease of maintenance.
