ASRS Warehousing | SRM Installation – Salina, KS
At a distribution facility in Salina, Kansas, Byers proposed a fixed-rate program to install three storage/retrieval machines (SRMs), providing full mechanical assembly and heavy-rigging support. Work is planned for normal business hours—Monday through Friday, 10-hour shifts—to maintain schedule, safety, and coordination with parallel trades.
The scope furnishes three mechanical assemblers for 30 days and one certified welder for 21 days; a 5-ton extended-boom forklift for 30 days; a 130-foot boom lift for one week; and two 15-ton carry-deck cranes for one month. It also includes welding machines, consumables, and 6010/E7018 electrodes, plus contracted cranes sized for unloading and standing equipment: 200-ton (4 days), 70-ton (4 days), and 60-ton (10 days for unloading and one week for standing), with an assumed 8-hour crane day including operator, rigger, permits, and fees.
Execution follows standard general conditions and clarifications, with delineations for out-of-scope items and a defined proposal validity window to streamline approvals. The plan emphasizes safe lifts, precise alignment, and organized cable/steel management to support efficient commissioning of the new SRM aisles and long-term maintainability of the automated system.
