Beverage Production Facility – Billings, MT
In Billings, Montana, Byers delivered the electrical installation for a hygienic production environment, building a clean, code-compliant backbone for motors, controls, networking, and safety devices. The effort emphasized stainless raceways, disciplined cable management, and daytime sequencing to coordinate efficiently with parallel trades and maintain safe operations during installation
Scope included furnishing and installing stainless steel basket wire tray (4″, 12″, and 18″ widths at 2″ depth) with dividers for voltage separation; running all AS-i cables, splitters, device adapters, and M12 leads; pulling analog and digital signal cabling from designated control panels (CP-12620-01/-02/-03/-04/-05, with 120-ft end-to-end allowances); installing VFD cables with integrated feedback for motors on MCP-12620-1/-2; providing non-fused local motor disconnects (non-metallic, NEMA 4X) with auxiliary contacts; and adding stainless basket tray and cabling for Ethernet feeds to MCPs, control panels, and HMIs. Up to 60 hours of start-up/commissioning support was included to facilitate a smooth handoff.
Execution relied on precise staging and labeling, food-grade tie-wrap spacing (every 3′ on vertical drops and 6′ on horizontal runs), and clear delineations to streamline commissioning—no conduit (all raceways in stainless basket tray), with specified 480-V and 120-V panel feeds provided by others. The result is a maintainable electrical infrastructure designed for reliability, rapid troubleshooting, and long-term performance in a washdown-capable, beverage manufacturing setting
